Woman scorned and filled with pain
Yet she always does remain
She has no place she wants to go
But always does her sorrow show
What is this fear that keeps her close
To those in life who hurt the most

Woman filled with such remorse
Protects her child at any cost
Kissing them she holds them tight
Always tries to give them light
Accepts her pain but yet remains
With brutal hand she feels the pain

She has this fear to leave behind
The fate that somehow she's inclined
To think that she deserves this hate
I try to think and contemplate
What's wrong with this poor woman child
Who constantly will be reviled

Hoping one day pain will leave
But surely there is no reprieve
Lost the glow that's never found
By hatred's evil she is bound
She cringes in a corner deep
Hopes for promise they can't keep

What evil force that lurks beside
Who brutalizes meek and mild
Tortures soft and gentle soul
Who never gets her story told
But sits in silence with her heart
Afraid to move and fears to part

How sad and filled with such despair
Has lost all hope so unaware
Her heart is weak her mind is numb
Her battle's over and it's done
Do you fear that this might be
Life's testament for you and me
