Upon the steps of blood and stone
He walked a Holy Path
His Shadow cast upon a wall
Surrounded by such wrath

Eyes all filled with blood and tears
His body scourged with pain
Spat upon and pointed at
Yes "Jesus" was His Name

He walked upon the earth a while
Told stories of great worth
Taught us of the good in life
The reason for His Birth

He knew exactly what would come
He felt the pain before
Within the Garden as He prayed
His Passion what He saw

Looking up within the sky
He asked to "Let it pass"
Upon this earth a mortal man
His Father's will at last

Thy will be done upon the earth
His heart was filled with woe
This man of God and Holiness
He felt each awful blow

Upon His shoulders filled with pain
His cross was hewn of wood
North and South East and West
His shadow there for good

Upon His Head a crown of thorns
So heavy was this weight
For every thorn embedded there
The Glory of His faith

His final words with His last breath
Forgive them Father please
They do not know what they do
His tear that fell appeased

His Head bowed down with dignity
His Life on Earth was done
This Man of Love and Poverty
His story now begun

The earth now quaked in anger
The rain was falling down
Into the arms of Mary
Her little boy "Love's Crown"

Laid within a borrowed tomb
His wealth not made of coin
His body wiped anointed there
His Mother's heart adjoined

I wonder if she saw him then
Laughing as a child
Running playing in her eyes
Her Child so meek and mild

Battered torn so drenched in blood
Each drop a chalice filled
Within Her arms Her Little Boy
His Holy Blood was spilled

The rolling rock was placed secure
As men of Rome were placed
Worried that His Body gone
Would lead to their disgrace

On Easter Morn the earth was bright
The sun was shining down
Upon the place where Jesus lay
His body was not found

He walks among His Children
His Light of Love shines bright
The miracle of gentleness
His Shadow our Great Light

His Shadow on this earth remains

Throughout eternity

The Son of God So Meek and Mild

His Love has set us free.

The Passion of The Christ was the most heart-rendering
and greatly portrayed gift of my life in this century.
I was overwhelmed by the great humility and dignity of
this Man of God, a mere mortal placed on this earth
to honor His Father and die for our sins.

Each Station of the Cross that I walked through as a child
with the help of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd,
who raised me, finally showed me the greatest
meaning of the "love" that Our Heavenly Father had
for His children that He gave His Only Son to walk in
the Shadow of a Cross to bring us to our salvation.

Yes, the violence of the Crucifixion was unbearable, but
we were seeing it through the eyes of the Man who
suffered it. I believe that this movie is a reminder of
the love that Our Heavenly Father has for us all.

So on this Easter I wish you the love of God and His
most Beloved Son Jesus. The simple man of Nazareth
whose life on earth brought us to the understanding and
sacrifice that there truly is no greater gift than the gift
of humility, dignity and resolve to do what His Father
put Him on this earth to do. He gave us Life, He gave us
Humility, He gave us Love and He gave us His Only Son
to prove His love for us. There is no greater love than that.

Happy Easter and God Bless You All.
