The child I loved has gone away

But always can be found

Within the breeze of heaven's breath

On earth her spirit's bound

 

When Autumn leaves begin to fall

With colors deep and warm

I think of her with all my love

And hear her special songs

 

Within the heart that beats with love

With every passing day

I pause and think of her with joy

So glad she came my way

 

I hear her laughter in the breeze

Her touch so soft and strong

Assuring me that she is there

When sadness brings a storm

I pray that when I close my eyes

On Christmas morning day

My Angel will be next to me

With tender words she'll say

 

Within your heart a special key

That opens up the sky

So I can come to you on earth

And never say "goodbye"

 

Oh my heart be still at last

My wishes have come true

For Maddie is a part of me

With every breath anew

 

My little girl who filled my soul

With love beyond compare

Wings now wrapped around my heart
